Prevailing Wage Law - Threshold Increase

The State Department of Labor and Workforce Development has announced that the municipal government threshold for the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act has increased to $14,187.00 effective July 1st, 2009. Work such as construction, renovation, demolition, or repairs, awarded by a municipal governing body, is subject to Prevailing Wage if the total cost of the job, including materials, exceeds this amount. The threshold remains at $2,000.00 for work awarded by all other agencies, including boards of education, counties, local authorities, and other local government agencies. Laws and regulations about the Prevailing Wage Act are found at http://lwd.dol.state.nj.us/labor/wagehour/lawregs/prevailing_wage_law.html.
