Status of Bills A1645 & S770Assembly bill A1645 Redefines role and qualifications of purchasing agents in "Local Public Contracts Law."
This bill was referred to the Assembly Appropriations Committee on June 5th and was Favorably reported out of Committee.
The Committee realized the importance of Government Entities to have the person who is responsible for Purchasing and the expenditure of both Local and State Funds (via state aid), to be trained and knowledgeable about all laws a nd rules that impact Purchasing.
This bill and the Senate version (S770) will now go to the Senate and the Assembly for full votes. We encourage you to contact your Senator and Assemblyperson (bill A1645) and urge them to vote for this Legislation.
